A new Irish music collective that brings together the best new talent in soul, hip-hop, RnB and pop music is launching with a gig in Dublin next month.

The Word Up collective - the brainchild of Annette and Phil Udell (State.ie, BIMM, WholeWorldBand) - brings together "a collection of like minded souls" working on the Irish hip-hop scene, as well as various related styles.

Members of the collective include disco/funk-infused pop of Belfast's Katie Laffan, trip-hop vocalist Soulé and alternative rappers Anti-One and MC Axiom, amongst others.

There have already been several standalone gigs by individual members of the collective, but they will come together for the first time for the official launch gig at The Bello Bar, Dublin on April 7th.

Entry is a mere €5 and you can find out more about the Word Up Collective - as well as the artists on the bill - via its Facebook page.
