First things first: it must be difficult to attempt to forge your own path in life when you're closely related to someone who's pretty famous.
However, Nell Mescal is steering clear of acting like her big brother ('Normal People' star Paul) and is instead pursuing a career in music.
The 19-year-old from Maynooth has just released her debut single 'Graduating', which she says is about "feeling like you’re supposed to be sad about something but you’re not. Then feeling a little bit angry, I suppose and trying to turn that anger into something a little less all-consuming. Just wishing that some experiences were nicer."
Mescal moved to London after leaving school and has been collaborating with other writers, artists and producers in a bid to hone her style. She began writing her own songs at 13 and had previously posted a clip of herself and Paul singing the Villagers song 'Nothing Arrived' on piano.
Surely it's only a matter of time before she's sharing a bill with her potential future sister-in-law, Phoebe Bridgers?
