Every year, I bleat on about how the MTV Europe Music Awards are essentially redundant as all the performing acts are largely American, 95% of the winners are American, and really it's just another reason for American mainstream acts to celebrate themselves in a different setting. This year was no different. Apart from the setting, which was Frankfurt.

As ever, we have a red carpet gallery in our Gossip Section. But firstly, here are your winners. As has become the norm, Taylor Swift(ly vanishing before our very eyes) and Justin Bieber won the most gongs - although One Direction did give them a run for their millions.
