More fantastic acts have been added to the line up for the Electric Picnic 2009, to take place in Stradbally from September 4th to 6th. The biggest of these is a man who was rumoured before the initial line up announcements, but has now been confirmed for the festivities. It's Mr. Beach Boy himself, Brian Wilson.
Joining Brian Wilson are Norwegian electro-pop duo Royksopp, Malian afro-pop couple Amadou and Mariam, Bob Marley's former band The Wailers, acoustic folk singer/songwriter Fionn Regan, Offally man Mundy, electro pop group A Flock of Seagulls, Arcade Fire's string section Bell Orchestre, Swedish electronica wizard The Field, New York anti-folk figurehead Jeffrey Lewis, breakthrough synth-pop act Marina and the Diamonds, alt country band Richmond Fontaine, and last but not least, the LCD Soundsystem boys James Murphy and Pat Mahony in a Special Disco Version DJ Set.
