With Michael Jackson's body finally laid to rest in Los Angeles on Friday, it seems 'This Is It', the film which compiles footage of the late king of pop rehearsing for his final tour, is well under way.
'This Is It' is to be directed by High School Musical director Kenny Ortega, and is set for a limited release of two weeks, even appearing with parts in 3D in selected theatres. The film will draw on over one hundred hours of behind-the-scenes footage, featuring Jackson rehearsing a number of his songs for the show.
Ortega said of the project, 'As we began assembling the footage for the motion picture we realized we captured something extraordinary, unique and very special. It’s a very private, exclusive look into a creative genius’s world.'
A poster has already been released (below), and we here at entertainment.ie will have the Irish exclusive on the trailer from Monday morning, 14th September. Keep and eye on www. entertainment.ie/cinema/trailers.asp and be first to see it!
This Is It' is due for release in cinemas on October 28th for a limited two week run. In case you think any of this is tacky, the film is being produced with the full support of The Estate of Michael Jackson. Sony Pictures paid $60million for the right, and Jackson's estate will received 90% of the profits.
