Following the revelation that their forthcoming double album would be titled 'Embryonic', Oklahoma psychedelic rockers The Flaming Lips have announced that both MGMT and Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O are to make guest appearances on the record.
Exactly what they're doing on the record is still unclear, but here's what frontman Wayne Coyne said in an interview with Swiss website Die Klangschau:
"We have MGMT doing a song with us and we have Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs doing a couple songs with us... For the Karen O tracks, I just called her up in her hotel room and we just did it right over the telephone. It's pretty absurd."
Coyne also admitted that the album will include some spoken word passages by a German mathematician. Meanwhile, Pitchfork.com speculate that the freakish picture above may be the album cover for 'Embryonic', though it has not been confirmed.
