It's a bad month for fans of '80s and '90s pop music.
First Tony Hadley leaves Spandau Ballet amid what sounds like pretty acrimonious circumstances, and now Marti Pellow has announced his intention to leave his bandmates in Wet Wet Wet and go solo.
The Scottish band first formed in 1982 before going on hiatus from 1997 - 2004, and had been touring sporadically over the years including up to last week.
Now it seems that Pellow has had enough and will be concentrating on his solo career for the 'foreseeable', as he announced on Twitter the other day:
Hi all, wanted you to know for foreseeable future I'll be concentrating on my solo work, am excited by the future and seeing you out there x
