Don't expect Maroon 5 to be nominated for a VMA anytime soon - not after what frontman Adam Levine had to say about this year's ceremony.
The singer and sometime actor has a contentious relationship with the VMAs dating back to 2011, when he expressed his disappointment about MTV in general, tweeting: "The VMA's. One day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music. I'm drawing a line in the sand. Fuck you VMA's."
In 2013, he doubled-down by tweeting "the VMA's seriously used to be so awesome."
Now, he has called the event "utterly horrible" and criticising performances by Julia Michaels and Lorde being cut off early.
It's always exciting to see how utterly horrible the VMAs will be. They really delivered so far this year. #HOLYFUCK
