Jape are back with a brand new single ahead of the release of 'This Chemical Sun' early next year.

Consistently one of Ireland's most engaging acts, Jape will make a welcome return to record store shelves next year and the first cut from the new record is ready for your ears right now.
Jape's previous two records 'Ritual' and 'Ocean of Frequency' are both considered to be among the finest Irish releases in recent years. Both records took home the Choice Music Prize for Irish album of the year (the only act to win this award twice, incidentally) so all eyes and ears will be focused on exactly what Egan has in store for us next.
"The Hearts Desire' came from a bass riff. I've played bass with so many bands, (The Redneck Manifesto, Villagers, David Kitt) and it's my favourite instrument to play so I figured I should use it more for this record," says Egan on the making of the track.
Egan describes the sound of this song as indicative of what we can expect from the new record, a style he describes as "gothic pop". Whatever you call it, our interest is most certainly piqued for the release of 'This Chemical Sun'.
