The public memorial for Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds took place in Los Angeles on Saturday and by all accounts was an emotional affair.
One of the songs that was played at the ceremony was a track written especially for Fisher and Reynolds by James Blunt, who was a close friend of Fisher's, and contains lyrics like: "There's still a light on your table / There's still your name on my phone / I can't believe I'm not able to call" and "We met in a beautiful place / You danced, I talked / I go back there every single day / I'm still there but you're not".
It's called 'Courtney's Song' and was introduced by Todd Fisher, Carrie's brother, who had earlier told Entertainment Weekly: ""The simplicity of [Blunt's] songs is pretty amazing. It's not like complicated lyrics, but something about how he strings all this together is beautiful.
"I believe this song is going to be a really big song, not because of what it is, but because it is a beautiful standalone song, and I think it's going to mean a lot to a lot of people who have lost loved ones. It is truly a gift to all of us for all of us that have lost loved ones… Everybody has lost somebody and this song is a true help in letting go."
