Despite their advancing years, Metallica are showing no sign of casually slipping into old age and have unveiled their first new music since 2008's 'Death Magnetic'. The legendary metal group have released to the web a "garage demo version" of 'The Lord of Summer', which you can hear above.
The track got its live debut at a recent live show in Bogota on St. Patrick's Eve and the full 8 minute version has now seen the light of day. The band's Facebook page had previously hinted that the group would soon be making a new track available, saying that they were "working out the kinks in the new song that we'll be debuting in South America in a couple of days".
Rumours are now rampant that a new Metallica record could be in the works, with guitarist Kirk Hammet hinting in an interview that a new project could be in the shops at some point in 2015.
That may be a while away still so they above track will likely have to satisfy the band's legion of fans for a while yet.
