Eminem has leaked another brand new track from his upcoming album The Marshall Mathers LP 2. This marks the third brand new track released by Eminem in recent weeks, with 'Bezerk' and 'Survival' already having seen the light of day. At this rate we'll have heard the entire record by time release day rolls around next month.
The new tune, suitably titled 'Rap God', sees Eminem tip his cap to old school hip hop with a dose of impressively spritely vocals laid down over the course of the 6 minute track. Em even finds time for lyrical references for Monica Lewinsky and Run DMC in what might be construed as an attempt to return to his heyday of yesteryear.
Would this stand up to some of Eminem's best work from years ago? That remains to be seen but we'll get an indication when TMMLP2 drops next month and its resulting sales will go some way to indicating whether or not Emimem still has a place in today's music business.
Our money's on Eminem. After all, he's made a career out of being counted out.
