Master of self-promotion that he is, Liam Gallagher has been speaking out about the next Beady Eye album - and he says it's bloody great. Let's be honest here, Liam's first post-Oasis record Different Gear, Still Speeding underwhelmed, especially compared to his big brother Noel's excellent High Flying Birds debut.
Speaking to our pals at NME about Beady Eye's upcoming second album, Liam stated that his former band were not brave enough to make this album, saying "This is the record Oasis should have made after (What's The Story) Morning Glory. I'm not saying it's better than Be Here Now, I won't have a bad word said about it but when you're selling 20 million records, you've got people there going, 'Oh let's just chuck out that formula again'. So I'm a bit disappointed we didn't ever do it. But this fucking record: we've booted the door off the hinges and steamed right in there, into this other world".
Speaking of the reaction to his band's debut in 2011, Liam said: "Maybe it was too quick after Oasis. But you can blame it on this, you can blame it on that...at the end of the day people just didn't fucking buy it, they didn't get it, it didn't connect, so back to the drawing board."
