Smiling! Lana Del Rey is smiling! Now we know that 2017 isn't in fact real but some sort of weird Matrix-like alternate reality.

Lana Del Rey may not have given us a release date for her latest album but today she gave fans exactly what they wanted in the form of the album cover for 'Lust for Life' which shows a slight departure from her previous default setting of smize-and-look-mysterious.

Del Rey recently sat down with BBC Radio 2’s Jo Whiley in a rare interview and revealed some details about 'Lust for Life'.

"I started out thinking that the whole record was gonna have a sort of a ’50s-’60s feeling, kind of some kind of Shangri-Las, early Joan Baez influences," she sai.

"But I don’t know, as the climate kept on getting more heated politically, I found lyrically everything was just directed towards that. So because of that, the sound just got really updated, and I felt like it was more wanting to talk to the younger side of the audience that I have. I guess it’s a little more socially aware. It’s kind of a global feeling."

Fans, meanwhile, have been enjoying the album cover no end.
