The rapper-turned-fashion designer says he's not here to "apologise" for his latest collaboration between his clothing line Yeezy and American retail store, The Gap.
Kanye West is now selling his clothes out of what looks to be trash bags. The 45-year-old entrepreneur launched his Yeezy x Gap line in store this week, and has not allowed any of his line to be hung up, folded or displayed for customers to see. There are no wire hangers being used here.
According to the tweet below, Kanye "got mad" when the clothing was displayed on hangers and having them displayed like this is "how he wanted it".
On a closer inspection, the Kanye West trash bags are actually huge bags which are more commonly used on construction sites. Still, good luck trying to fish for an extra large in a sea of smalls and mediums - you're gonna have to dig deep.
West's new way of displaying his clothing has come under fire online due to an earlier post he uploaded onto his Instagram account which referenced homeless people as an inspiration days before displaying his new clothing line in giant bags. The cryptic message said: "Look to the children… Look to the homeless… As the biggest inspiration for all design."
Defending his latest clothing venture, which will set shoppers back $60 for a baseball cap, West said in an interview with Fox News: "I’m an innovator, and I’m not here to sit up and apologise about my ideas."
"This is not a joke," he continued, "this is not a game, this is not just some celebrity collaboration. This is my life. I’m fighting for a position to be able to change clothing and bring the best design to the people."
