Jay-Z and Kanye West's collaboration Watch The Throne was one of the most keenly anticipated albums of 2011 and was met with great reviews (mostly), but it seems that some weren't too happy with it.
The duo used a sample of a track called 'Different Strokes' by Syl Johnson on 'The Joy', but the publishers of the original track say that no royalties were paid for use of the audio. Johnson has said he intends to take the superstar rappers to court. Kanye had previously negotiated with Johnson to have a segment of 'Different Strokes' feature in a song from his last album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, however no money changed hands and the sample wasn't used until its appearance on Watch The Throne.
