It's safe to say that Justin Timberlake has probably had better weeks - but as the old showbiz saying goes, the show must go on.
Timberlake was arrested for DWI (driving while intoxicated) in the wealthy Hamptons area of New York last week, and his glassy-eyed mugshot and photos of his 'perp walk' generated countless memes on social media.
The fact that the arresting police officer was reportedly too young to recognise the star when he expressed concern about his world tour also made headlines.
However, that same tour resumed in Chicago over the weekend and Timberlake took the opportunity to address his arrest.
He told the crowd: "We’ve been together through ups and downs, lefts and rights. It’s been a tough week, but you’re here and I’m here, and nothing can change this moment right now.
"I know sometimes I’m hard to love but you keep on loving me and I love you right back."
His 'Everything I Thought I Was' world tour will not visit Dublin, unfortunately - but rolls into Europe this autumn.
