It goes without saying that Justin Bieber has irked a lot of people by cancelling the remaining dates of his 'Purpose' tour - but at least one of his fellow musicians is backing his decision.
Bieber pulled the remaining dates just yesterday, releasing a statement apologising to fans and confusingly claiming both 'unforeseen circumstances' and a decision made 'after careful consideration'. He was due to play Singapore, Japan and the Phillippines with 14 dates left on the tour.
However, John Mayer has come out to fight in Bieber's corner, claiming on Twitter that artists only pull dates of a tour if they are at risk to doing "real damage to themselves".
When someone pulls remaining dates of a tour, it means they would have done real damage to themselves if they kept going. 1/2

We've lost so many great artists lately. I give Justin ðŸ'Â?ðŸÂ?¼ðŸ'Â?ðŸÂ?¼ for realizing it was time to call it. You should too. 2/2

Bieber himself has not made an official personal comment on the matter.
