If you're a Spotify user and a Jay Z fan, there's bad news for you.
In a way, it's remarkable that it's taken so long for Jay Z to pull his music from Spotify, considering that he is the co-owner of rival service TIDAL - but it's taken until now for the rapper to remove the vast majority of his back catalogue from the most popular streaming platform in the world.
As NME reports, the only albums remaining on Spotify are 1997’s ‘In My Lifetime Vol. 1’, ‘Reasonable Doubt' and ‘Vol. 2 Hard Knock Life’, as well as his album with Linkin Park, 'Collision Course’ and several standalone singles.
A Spotify rep confirmed that 'some' of the music had been removed "at the request of the artist.”
