It's been almost six years since the last Gorillaz studio album 'Plastic Beach' was released, during which time Damon Albarn reunited, toured and recorded a new album with Blur, amongst other endeavours.

They released 'The Fall'  in 2011, of course, but that album was recorded on the road on Damon Albarn's iPad and therefore didn't have quite the same thrust of a full studio affair.

Now, however, it seems that the cartoon band are in full swing again as they prepare the release of their fifth album, due this year.

Jamie Hewlett has posted Instagram clips of he and Albarn in the studio with none other than Jean-Michel Jarre, as well as soul-pop artist Liam Bailey and producer Twilite-Tone.
