He has dipped his toe into both the world of music and the world of literature in the past - but it seems that James Franco is particularly taken by the work of Lana Del Rey.

The actor has written a 'love letter'-style essay about Del Rey which was published in V magazine. The pair are friends and Franco claims that he wants to work with the singer on a new "awesome b-movie" along the lines of Sunset Boulevard that she has an idea for.

"Lana lives in her own art and when she comes down to earth for interviews it gets messy, because she isn't made for this earth," he enthused.

"She has this idea for a film. I want to do it because it’s a little like Sunset Boulevard. A woman is alone in a big house in LA. She doesn’t want to go out. She starts to go crazy, and becomes paranoid because she feels like people are watching her. Even in her own house. It’s like an awesome B-movie that lives in Lana’s head. It’s about her, and it’s not about her. Just like her music."

The news comes after Franco told Howard Stern that he wanted to "make love" to Del Rey's music in an interview last month.
