Get used to the name James Bay, because you're going to be hearing it a lot in 2015.

The 24-year-old has been named the winner of the BRIT Critics' Choice Award for 2015, beating off competition from George the Poet and Years & Years

He'll receive his gong at a ceremony in London next month, while the full awards show takes place on February 25th. He's also tipped to win the BBC Sound of 2015 poll.

"I'm pretty speechless," he said of his win. "After all the years I've spent watching the BRITs and even after this year; watching my fan base grow so much, I never thought I'd actually be getting an award myself. And what a huge honour to be following the incredible artists who've won before! I'm really chuffed, thank you to everyone who has supported me."
