Stranger things have happened in the world of rock 'n' roll...

Axl Rose is being touted as the replacement singer for AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson, who was recently told to stop singing or risk losing his hearing. The band postponed some live dates, but said they would be rescheduled for later in the year - more than likely with a temporary singer taking Johnson's role.

Now, rumours suggest that that temporary singer could be Guns 'N Roses frontman Axl Rose.

Rose is currently gearing up for his own live dates (and subsequent tour, if rumours are to be believed) with the original Guns 'N Roses line-up, but according to Alternative Nation, a "very very good source" told Atlantan radio DJ Jason Bailey that he will join the Australian rock bands for the remaining ten dates on their tour.

Alternative Nation quote him as saying: ""This is what I’m being told, Axl was meeting with the AC/DC group, because it’s all but a done deal that Axl will front AC/DC for the ten remaining shows. All ten, including Atlanta.

"From what I was told, this was all kind of new inside information to me, Angus [Young, AC/DC guitarist] is a very black and white guy. He’s like, Brian, for health reasons, can’t continue fronting the band. He was supposed to retire after the last tour, so they wanted to continue going out on the road and continue making music, so if you can’t do it, we appreciate your services, but the show must go on.

"They’re in town, they were auditioning people for the job, and then they flew Axl in, again, this is from my source."

Whether you want to believe Bailey or his source is debatable, but there's no doubt that Rose would be a big draw...  if he can keep his ego in check long enough for those ten dates.
