If reports emerging in today's press are to be believed, Adele has been offered ridiculous money - somewhere in the region of $40 million - to be the latest big name to sign up to a Las Vegas residency series of concerts.
Britney Spears has been the most recent big name to accept a residency deal from one of Las Vegas' casinos, where she'll follow in the footsteps of Elvis Presley, Rod Stewart, Tom Jones and Celine Dion if she elects to accept the offer.
Sir Elton John, another veteran of the Vegas stages, has urged his compatriot to accept the offer, or so says the Sun on Sunday.
An "insider" (pinch of salt possibly required here, folks) was quoted by the red top as saying: "The highest figure being touted is $40 million but it could be even higher. Elton's been a really good friend to her and they've been Skypeing to share parental advice. But he is a businessman too and has been telling Adele [that a] Vegas residency could secure a really good future for her family."
The figure touted is obviously ridiculous money and we can imagine Adele being swayed by being a new mother and wanting to call a halt to touring temporarily - but would she want to raise her wee one in Vegas for a couple of years? Also, the notion of Elton John and Adele sharing parenting advice over Skype is A W E S O M E!
