One Irish musician you can expect to make some waves in 2014 is Hozier. Long considered a musician of some potential, it was the Bray man's song 'Take Me To Church' which first made us sit up and take note of his talents. Well, we weren't the only ones.
'Take Me To Church' was among the nominees for the recently announced Meteor Choice Song of the Year (which ultimately went to O.R.B.) and tours both at home and in the United States are on the horizon but, even with all that in mind, we were still slightly taken aback by just how quickly Hozier's Whelan's date sold out.
The show, which will take place on Thursday March 6th, sold out nearly 400 tickets in just 48 seconds giving the strongest indication yet that Andrew Hozier-Byrne is going to be bleedin' massive. Congrats to those of you with fast fingers who got a ticket because we know there are a slew of disappointed folk out there this afternoon who were unable to get their mitts on them.
Hozier's US tour dates, for the curious:
Monday 10th March – The Slipper Room, New York City (sold out)
Wednesday 12th March – Spotify House @ SXSW, Austin, Texas
Friday 14th March – Hype M Hotel @ SXSW, Austin, Texas
Friday 14th March – Communion showcase @ SXSW, Austin, Texas
Monday 17th March – School Night at Bardot, Los Angeles
Wednesday 19th March – Hotel Cafe, Los Angeles (sold out)
He then swings back home via London for a sold out show at The Lexington on Wednesday 26th March.
The “From Eden” E.P will be released on Rubyworks on Friday 28th March
