Concert promoters MCD have issued weather and transport announcement ahead of tonight's Kings of Leon and Kodaline concert at Marlay Park.

The bad news is that a typically Irish summer's evening is expected, with www.met.ie saying it will be "cloudy with outbreaks of rain clearing eastwards but drier and brighter weather arriving in the west and northwest" early this afternoon. What's more, umbrellas will NOT be permitted into the venue so attendees are encouraged to wear appropriately waterproof gear.

As well as that, MCD have also issued some important travel information to inform concertgoers of their options after a number of attendees complained of difficulty returning home after last Sunday's Arcade Fire concert in the same venue. Traffic delays are inevitable, they say, and you are encouraged to leave yourself additional travelling time - at least "an extra two hours."

Marathon Return Shuttle Bus services are sold out until 6pm but additional buses have been made available for a 6.30pm and 7pm departure. Visit their website for additional information. Where possible, you are advised to carpool, cycle or use public transport to the venue.

Oh and you'll be pretty vigourously searched on entry so don't bring anything you shouldn't!

It might get a little wet out there this evening but feck it - it's the weekend! Don't forget to enjoy yourselves!
