Harry Styles has claimed his first-ever number one on the Irish singles charts.
A number-one single had eluded Styles as a solo artist until now, but Styles broke the hoodoo in some style.
First-week sales and streams of 'As It Was' were the highest for any Irish number one this year.
The single serves as the lead single for Styles' new album 'Harry's House', his first album since 2019's 'Fine Line'.
Styles peaked at number two with 'Watermelon Sugar' in 2020, but was held off the top slot by 'Savage Love', the dominant hit of summer 2020.
Styles of course claimed 6 Irish number one singles as part of One Direction, and his debut single 'Sign of The Times' debuted at number one in his native United Kingdom.
Dave fell from number one to number two with his track 'Starlight' which had held the top slot for the last four weeks.
'Fine Line' also rocketed up the album charts this week, with the album jumping from number 18 to number five.
Over on the album charts, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers went straight in with number one with their new album 'Unlimited Love', their first album with guitarist John Frusciante since 2006's 'Stadium Arcadium'.
'Harry's House' will debut on May 20th, and the album is tipped to be one of the year's biggest hits if the sales of 'As It Was' are anything to go by.
Styles has branched into acting, starring in Christopher Nolan's war epic 'Dunkirk' in 2017, and has been tapped to appear in the MCU as Eros, brother of Thanos.
The star will next be seen on our screens in the lead role in Olivia Wilde's new drama 'Don't Worry Darling' alongside Florence Pugh, with the film due for release later this year.
