You have to hand it to this guy - 10/10 for ingenuity.

David Spargo, an Australian fan of the duo Peking Duk (pictured above - us neither, but they're big in Oz) managed to blag his way backstage at their Melbourne gig after telling a security guard that he was a family member.

How did he back his claim up? By showing him the Wikipedia page that mentioned his name - even though he had just edited the page himself, seconds beforehand.

He ended up having a beer backstage with the band, Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles, who said they were so impressed by his ballsiness that they couldn't turn him away.

"It was probably the most genius, mastermind move that I’ve ever witnessed,” Hyde told The Guardian. “It’s crazy. He just did it on the spot, in a second on his phone. He told the security guard he was our stepbrother or something, and showed them the Wikipedia page and his ID.

"We ended up having a bunch of beers with him and he was an absolute legend. He wasn’t a creep or anything. He was like the most normal dude we’ve ever met. That’s what makes it more hilarious."

The moral of the story? Don't trust everything you read on Wikipedia.
