Nadine Coyle has revealed that she and her former band mates will be reuniting for a one-off special event in honour of their dear friend.
Girls Aloud will reunite for one night only in an upcoming fundraiser event. The special occasion will be dedicated to Sarah Harding, who passed away last year at the age of 39 from breast cancer.
Later this year, Nadine Coyle, Cheryl Tweedy, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts are planning on getting back together one more time for an event in aid of raising much-needed funds for cancer research and catching signs of cancer at an earlier stage.
Speaking with OK! Magazine, Coyle told the publication: "We’re planning a night for an event to raise money in honour of Sarah.
"She’s very much in the forefront of our minds. We want to raise money for a piece of medical equipment that helps diagnose cancer earlier so people can be treated. We definitely want to do something to help others."
Harding had revealed in August of 2020 that she had begun treatment for breast cancer. At the beginning of 2021, she released her memoir entitled 'Hear Me Out'. In September 2021, she passed away.
Coyle said in her interview that Harding's passing has been "devastating": "When she became unwell, a lot of my energy became focused on her.
"There were suddenly so many things happening that were more important than anything else. It was a time to be around loved ones and support them. Her passing has just been so devastating."
Girls Aloud will reunite later in the year. During their time together, the best-selling girl group in the UK won a BRIT Award and were known for top ten songs such as 'The Promise', 'Something New' and their breakout single from 2002 'Sound Of The Underground'.
