Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell's pop comeback has been put on hold after she sold less than 400 copies of her comeback single 'Half of Me' in Australia. Listen below.
Halliwell is currently operating out of Australia where she is a judge on the hugely successful Australia's Got Talent television show but not even her association with that entertainment juggernaut could place her higher than number 281 in the charts. Hardly surprising too, when you consider her song contains clunky lyrics like, "Better than chocolate, you're right in the pocket" and "I wanna have your baby, gonna have you like crazy, then iron your shirt". Christ.
Ginger Spice has signed a deal with Sony Australia to try and relaunch her career for the umpteenth time but 'Half of Me' was outsold by over 43,000 copies by Dami Im's 'I'm Alive', which is currently topping the Aussie charts.
Halliwell had hoped to release 'Half of Me' in the UK & Ireland too but we wouldn't be surprised if this mess is quietly swept under the rug and filed as another failed popstar comeback.
What do you think, is the song as big of a stinker as the chart performance suggests? We must confess, it nearly made our ears bleed.
