Franz Ferdinand and Sparks have joined forces for a joint album in what is one of music's more unusual pairings.

The Scottish indie-rockers previously announced their partnership with Ron and Russell Mael, who rose to fame in the 1970s with their quirky brand of art-glam-rock.

Now they've revealed details of their debut album and released the first song from it.

The supergroup is known as FFS and their eponymous album will be out on Domino Records on June 5th. "The real motivation was to make something new, not 'Franz featuring Russell Mael', or 'Sparks with Franz Ferdinand backing them,'" said Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos.
