He has released one of the albums of 2021, but David Balfe aka For Those I Love has not been able to tour it yet.

The Dublin artist, whose self-titled album has been pulling in 5-star reviews and critical acclaim across the board, has made several TV appearances in recent months, including 'Later... with Jools Holland' and 'The Tommy Tiernan Show'. He has also announced his first live show at the Olympia Theatre in October.

Now, after a series if impressive music videos, fans can get a taster of his live performance with a new live music film titled 'Holy Trinity'.

The film was shot in the grounds of Tolka Park in Drumcondra, home of Shelbourne FC, the football team that Balfe is an ardent fan of.

The film stars actors Rex Ryan and Tony Doyle amongst others, and was directed by Hugh Mulhern.

"When I was young, it was said that to be a true Donaghmede man, ya had to climb Holy Trinity, the local church, and stand atop the cross," he wrote on Instagram by way of an introduction. "I still remember the accident that put that tradition to rest. Me, I never made it. I could never trust myself enough to make that climb alone.

"See, I’ve always walked the hardest roads with those I trust the most.
I've only really worked with people cut from the same cloth as me, made of the same blood, bruised by the same world, and driven by the same depth.
So much of this project was spent sharing memories and traditions over Zoom, and listening to the director @hughmulhern share his. That's the lifeblood, where the trust is built, and I'm glad it was. I feel like we helped each other see the world anew."
