With such a wealth of big international names on the line-up for this year's Electric Pincic, it's easy to forget that there's an equally strong Irish contingent on the bill.

While it's true that you have a much better chance of catching the below acts more regularly throughout the year, it's often the case that festival sets bring something special to the table - so this lot are certainly worth a gander.

1) JAPE – Electric Arena, Sunday, 4pm

Richie Egan's Irish gigs have been few-and-far-between since he relocated to Sweden a few of years ago, but he's an act that is always worth seeing, thanks to his stockpile of upbeat, dance-friendly electropop tunes. He'll also be playing an even rarer gig with instrumentalists The Redneck Manifesto on Friday (Salty Dog stage, 10.20pm), too.

2) NEIL HANNON – My Lovely Horse Ranch, Sunday, 9pm

That's right – The Divine Comedy man is playing a rare Irish gig at the My Lovely Horse Ranch, the charity stage curated by his partner, Cathy Davey (when are you going to release an album, Cathy?! That goes for you too, Neil…). Is he going to play 'My Lovely Horse', you ask? It'd be rude not to, surely.

3) BLEEDING HEART PIGEONS - Body & Soul main stage, Friday, 11pm

This young Limerick trio have been on the radar of many over the last few years, and their excellent new single 'A Hallucination' is testament to the buzz they've been generating. If you're into quirky indie/art-pop bands like Wild Beasts, you'd do worse than to check this lot out.

4) GAVIN JAMES – Rankin Woods, Sunday, 6.15pm / Other Voices stage, Sunday, 8.30pm

The ginger Dubliner has been out foreign in recent months, impressing American crowds and landing big primetime TV slots and supports with the likes of Sam Smith. For just one man and a guitar – not to mention that gorgeous voice – he sure can entertain.

5) WYVERN LINGO –
Electric Arena, Sunday, 1.45pm / Other Voices stage, Sunday, 5pm

We're big fans of harmonies in music, and this Wicklow trio have harmonies in abundance. Former touring partners of their fellow Garden County native Hozier, this is haunting folk-pop with a lot of heart and buckets of soul.
