Fans have launched a campaign to get American rock band Eagles of Death Metal to number one in the UK charts, following Friday's attack in Paris at which scores of people were killed at their gig.
The band - led by Jesse Hughes and Joshua Homme, although Homme was not touring with them - released their most recent album 'Zipper Down' earlier this year.
Now, in a show of support for the band, fans have started an online campaign urging people to buy their cover of Duran Duran's 'Save a Prayer' in order to get it to number one.
Some have criticised the campaign, declaring it to be in poor taste and that the song's royalties should go to the victims - but the Facebook page for the campaign, "Eagles Of Death Metal For No.1", said "We're looking to do this as a bunch of EoDM fans in a respectful united demonstration of support for the band and those affected by the horrific ordeal in Paris this week. The No.1 would show that us in the UK cares deeply. If you're not interested, don't get involved.
"The charts are already looking very positive so far so please do share to others if you want to see this work as much as we do."
Over 6,400 people have 'liked' the Facebook page at time of writing, while the song was reported to be at No. 1 in the Rock Chart on UK iTunes earlier this morning.
