Having always planned to hang up The Streets moniker following the release of his brand new album 'Computers and Blues', Mike Skinner has made it official by posting an image on his website that simply reads "Closed".

Though Skinner has a UK tour lined up for this month before playing a final date in Oslo on March 15th, his management have confirmed that he will no longer be working as The Streets in any capacity. In the meantime, Skinner has taken over The Guardian Music as a guest editor this week.

Meanwhile, there are also rumours that it may be the end for Gorillaz too. Just weeks after Damon Albarn told an audience in Auckland, New Zealand, that it might be their final concert, reports have surfaced that the former Blur frontman has had "dogged and angry rows" with his Gorillaz partner Jamie Hewlett. According to People, "Things haven't been great for a while, between Albarn and Hewlett, with Hewlett said to be frustrated at 'how much time Albarn was giving to his many other projects' and Albarn was 'less than impressed with Jamie's party lifestyle.'"

On the plus side, Blur guitarist Graham Coxon has been hinting that Blur may soon record new material, tweeting, "Off to see the blur boys and have coffee and maybe switch a tape recorder on!!! wooop!! .... we are havin a meet up... might get a guitar out... y' know."
