You may not have been able to defrost your toes for a week now, but there's more than one reason to look forward to summer. Another arrives on Monday, when early bird tickets for Electric Picnic 2011 will go on sale.

Coming in at the same price as last year, €199, this year the folks behind the Stradbally festival are letting early birds pay off their ticket in easily digestible instalments - €67 this Monday December 6th, €66 on or before January 31st 2011 and a final €66 on March 31st, by which time the first line up announcements will have been made. Family tickets will also go on sale on Monday at 9am and be payable in instalments.

As usual EP will take place over the first weekend in September, this year falling on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th. The festival is set to be launched on March 24th, and we'll have the line up right here on entertainment.ie as soon as it is.

In other vague festival news, rumours are already circulating about the line up for Oxegen 2011. As soon as we heard Pulp were reforming for summer festival dates we assumed they'd be on the bill, but a few other names have come up in the last week or two. Foo Fighters have been confirmed as this year's T in the Park festival in Scotland, which takes place on the same weekend as Oxegen and always has an almost identical line up. That one seems like a definite then. Other names being bandied include Metallica, Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas and Blink 182, while rumours about Faith No More as a headliner have been all but quashed by a post on a fan blog site.
