The Rovers Return has never had a night like it as Ed Sheeran played a set on the Coronation Street set to celebrate the 40th anniversary of a local Manchester radio station in the company of a slew of Corrie stars Brooke Vincent, Jennie McAlpine, Katie McGlynn and Tina O'Brien.

The evening kicked off with a reception in the Rovers Return before everyone headed back to Carla Connors' gaff to continue the party there, while Ed whipped out his guitar and played a 40 minute set of new material. Sounds like practically every party we went to in college, just with a substantially more gifted musician providing the musical accompaniment.

Sheeran described the performance as "random, but fun".

'x', the latest album from Ed Sheeran, was released last week and you can read our review right here.
