Bob Dylan is currently recording covers of Christmas songs for a yuletide album. Arts website BullyPulpit.com broke the news this week, and the news was confirmed yesterday by reputable sources such as Billboard.

According to reports, Dylan has been recording both traditional Christmas carols and modern songs for his first ever Christmas album, at the Santa Monica studios of fellow folk rocker Jackson Browne. Songs already recorded are said to include 'Here Comes Santa Claus','I'll Be Home For Christmas', 'O Little Town Of Bethlehem' and 'Must Be Santa'.

Though it seems like an odd move, those in the know are not surprised by it, after all, Dylan has already released explicit religious material after his conversion to Christianity in 1979. Media expert Michael Levine said it was "completely consistent with his longstanding tradition of doing the unexpected.'
