Veteran rapper and producer Dr Dre is receiving treatment at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after suffering a brain aneurysm.

According to reports, he was rushed to hospital by ambulance and taken directly to intensive care.

The music mogul's condition was described to TMZ, who broke the news, as "stable and lucid. "

They added: "doctors don't know what caused the bleeding and they are doing a battery of tests."

Upon hearing about his condition, Ice Cube tweeted a picture of them together and wrote: "Send your love and prayers to the homie."

 

Snoop Dogg wrote on Instagram: "GET WELL DR DRE WE NEED U CUZ."

Missy Elliott added: "Prayers up for Dr Dre and his family for healing & strength over his mind & body."

Dre has since shared an update on his condition via Instagram.

He said that he is "doing great" and praised the medical team at the hospital.

He wrote: "Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team.

"I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!"
