Do you have an overwhelming obsession with all things Beyonce and absolutely no idea what to do with your life? If so, we have just the ticket for you! New Jersey's Rutgers University have begun offering a college course in Beyonce, which examines issues such as race, gender and sexual politics using Beyonce's music as reference.

The course - called 'Politicising Beyonce' - is headed by PHD student Kevn Allred who states that the course will draw comparisons between Beyonce's music and its place within the larger sphere of the black feminist movement.

Politicising Beyonce includes topics such as whether or not Beyonce has control over her own image, or if she is a merely a tool of the larger recording industry.

Speaking on the singer, course leader Allred said: "She certainly pushes boundaries. While other artists are simply releasing music, she's creating a grand narrative around her life, her career and her persona."

"It's more important to shift students away from simply being consumers of media toward thinking more critically about what they're engaging on a regular basis."

Not only that, Rutgers also offers a course in the theology of Bruce Springsteen's lyrics but given that The Boss is from the Garden State we're not too surprised at that one.
