It seems that P. Diddy's empire is beginning to crumble, as allegations in recent. months against the rapper have intensified.

The 54-year-old rapper's homes in Los Angeles and Miami were recently raided by Homeland Security as part of a sex trafficking investigation, while a lengthy lawsuit alleging sexual harassment and assault by producer Lil Rod was filed a few months ago.

Over the weekend, a disturbing video leaked online which showed the rapper brutally assaulting his former girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie (real name Cassie Ventura) in a hotel in 2016.

The video, which was first obtained by CNN, shows Combs - wearing only a towel - chasing Cassie down a hotel corridor before throwing her to the ground, kicking her and dragging her.

It is believed to be the same incident referred to in a lawsuit brought by Ms. Ventura last year, which was settled a day after it was filed. It alleged that she was also a victim of rape and violent behaviour during their ten-year relationship.

Now, Combs has released a statement apologising for his actions in the video.

"It's so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that," he said. "I was fucked up, I hit rock bottom - but I make no excuses.

"My behaviour on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then when I did it, I'm disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I'm so sorry. But I'm committed to be a better man each and every day. I'm not asking for forgiveness. I'm truly sorry."
