The new Gorillaz album undoubtedly has an impressive cast of collaborators, from Grace Jones to Pusha T to Mavis Staples.
One name that almost made the contributors list for 'Humanz' is a more unlikely suspect, however - most notably, Morrissey.
Damon Albarn revealed in a new interview with Q magazine that he has pursued the Mancunian music legend to provide vocals for a track via a "month-long email correspondence", but that he had ultimately said no.
Albarn also said that he had tried to get soul stars Sade and Dionne Warwick on the album, but the latter had turned it down because the band's lyrics 'clashed with her religious beliefs'.
In the same interview, his bandmate Jamie Hewlett revealed that a 10-part TV series is in the works.
'Humanz' is out on April 28th.
