Cameron Crowe is set to direct a documentary chronicling Pearl Jam's twenty year career. According to reports, the film will consist of existing concert, backstage and studio footage with the band. One would hope that there'll also be new interviews, though guitarist Mike McCready "We're building up to our big 20th anniversary... We're trying to do a movie with Cameron Crowe with all of our existing footage."
Crowe seems like a capable man for the job, having previously acted as executive producer for Mark Pellington's Pear Jam documentary "Single Video Theory", which followed the making of the band's fifth album "Yield" in 1998. Crowe has wrote and directed the superb rock and roll film "Almost Famous" as well as Hollywood Hits "Jerry Maguire", "Vanilla Sky" and the lovely "Say Anything".
