Chris Brown just can't seem to stay out of trouble and the latest misdemeanor alleged against him stems from an incident late last night where he was arrested after supposedly punching a man outside a Washington DC hotel.

TMZ is reporting that Brown, who has a well-documented litany of violent assaults in his past, got into an argument with a man outside a hotel and punched him once in the face. The victim, who did not retaliate during the incident, sought treatment for his injuries in a nearby hospital. Brown's bodyguard was also arrested.

Brown had been hosting an event at a nightclub prior to the incident and it's understood that he was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs when questioned by police.

The singer is still currently on probation for attacking then-girlfriend Rihanna and, if convicted of this assault, he could face up to four years in prison. There is no word yet, however, if the victim intends to press charges.
