It's one of the biggest nights on the Irish music industry calendar, and the Choice Music Prize is just weeks away.

Amongst the various awards that will be handed out on the night - including Irish Album of the Year, Irish Song of the Year, Irish Breakthrough Artist and Irish Artist of the Year - there will be live entertainment.

MCed by 2FM's Tracey Clifford, the show will feature performances by 7 of the 10 nominated acts at Vicar Street on Thursday, March 7th.

They are:

John Francis Flynn

Kojaque

Lankum

Rachael Lavelle

The Murder Capital

Soda Blonde

Ezra Williams

The Scratch are unable to play due to touring commitments, while CMAT has a gig in Manchester the following day. The reason for Fontaines DC's Grian Chatten's omission from the live roster is not known.

The winning album will be announced at the RTÉ Choice Music Prize live event, and broadcast live on RTÉ 2FM in a special four-hour extended show with Beta Da Silva from 7-11pm. A special TV show will be broadcast on Thursday 14th March at 10.30pm on RTÉ2. And if you'd like to witness it all in first-person, tickets for the Vicar Street event are on sale now.
