One-hit wonder Carly-Rae Jepsen has been sighted trying to pawn off a handbag worth over $25,000.
According to Uproxx and Crazy Days and Nights, they allege that the Call Me Maybe singer was in New York and was seen trying to trade a handbag for cash. The pawn-shop owner refused as the authenticity of the bag couldn't be verified.
According to the eyewitness account, Jepsen begged the shop to take the bag off her. She then produced some jewellery to get the money she needed and left.
We're not entirely sure what to make of this, to be honest. It's not out of the realms of imagination that a singer - even one as successful as Jepsen - could go broke. After all, fellow one-hit wonder MC Hammer went bankrupt so anything's possible.
Even if it is true, eBay is a thing, right? Surely she could off-load the bag on that without anyone knowing.
Call Me Maybe was an international hit two years ago and reached number 1 in various charts. Since then, Jepsen hasn't had much chart success, however she most recently starred in a Broadway musical of Cinderella so that's something.
