After selling out two nights at Croke Park, Bruce Springsteen should be feeling pretty chuffed with himself.
The 67-year old musical legend's gigs in Drumcondra were easily the most well-received of the summer and solidified the Boss as one of the must-see live acts of our time. Now, according to his manager Jon Landau, they've earned Bruce a nice little paycheque.
In a recent interview with Billboard Magazine, Landau confirmed that the two nights in Croke Park netted a cool $19,228,100, with an attendance of 160,188 over the two nights. Obviously, the cost of putting on the show and paying for technical services and so on is deducted from the cost, but it just goes to show the level that Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are operating at.
In the same interview, Peter Aiken of Aiken Promotions said that "Irish people really love him, and it’s just building and building. Bruce never phones it in, his shows are 100 percent every time."
Aiken went on, saying that Bruce "probably could have done a third one. We knew it was going to be big, but none of us could have foreseen it was going to be as big as it was."
As it stands, the River Tour is now the highest grossing tour of the first six months of 2016, with Bruce finishing off the tour in Massachusetts on September 14th.
