We recently heard rumours of Adele going into semi-retirement - at least from touring - for up to a decade, and now it looks like Britney Spears may be set to follow suit.
In a new interview with NME, the pop star, who recently released her new album 'Glory', said that she didn't see herself following in the footsteps of the likes of Madonna and continuing her career for several more decades.
"Nope. Nah," she said. "Give me five - two? - more years, and yeah."
In fairness, she has been around for quite a while at this point - her debut single '...Baby One More Time' was released in 1998 when she was just 16 - so her career, despite its numerous ups and downs, has outlasted many of her peers.
A pop world without Britney, though? Perish the thought...
