Britney Spears has aired her views on her conservatorship very publicly over the past week, with many fans applauding her for finally making her voice heard.
One person who is not so thrilled about it, however, is her younger sister Jamie Lynn.
Over the weekend, Britney posted some damning captions to Instagram that denounced those who had 'never showed up for her' when she needed their help the most - and who were now making a show of lending their support when public attention has been drawn to her legal battle.
Most people took this to mean Jamie Lynn, who has recently spoken about how she 'adored and supported' Britney. "Maybe I didn’t support her the way the public would like me to, with a hashtag on a public platform,” she said. “But I can assure you that I’ve supported my sister long before there was a hashtag, and I’ll support her long after.”
The drama escalated when Britney directly addressed Jamie Lynn in a further Instagram post, which read: "“I don’t like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes. My so-called support system hurt me deeply. This conservatorship killed my dreams."
In turn, Jamie responded with her own Instagram post and a now-deleted caption that read: "May the peace of the Lord be with you, and your spirit."
She has since turned off comments on the post - largely because Britney responded to it in a not-so-subtle way with her own (also now edited) post below, which was originally captioned: "May the Lord wrap your mean ass up in joy today".
The sisters still follow each other on Instagram - for now - and the drama seems to have been temporarily quelled.
One of Britney's most recent posts read: "Ok ... so I got a lot off my chest last week … I said what I needed to say … and life goes on … where’s my yoga mat now ???♀️? ????"
What will tomorrow bring? Stay tuned...
