"If this did not involve Britney Spears it never would have been reported at all."
Britney Spears' housekeeper has filed a battery complaint against the singer due to an alleged altercation that happened on Monday, August 16. According to Variety, the housekeeper claims that Britney "accosted her in a fight over a cell phone".
The complaint was filed with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office. The police will present their report findings to the district attorney’s office.
Spears' attorney, Mathew Rosengart, spoke to Pitchfork about the dispute, labelling it as nothing more than "overblown sensational tabloid fodder". He explained there was "no striking and obviously no injury whatsoever".
He continued: "Anyone can make an accusation but this should have been closed immediately. To its credit, the Sheriff’s office itself has acknowledged that the incident was classified as a 'very minor misdemeanour'.

To quote Chris Crocker, "leave Britney alone". Britney Spears' housekeeper altercation comes in the midst of the singer attempting to break free from her 13-year conservatorship overseen by her father, Jamie Spears. Jamie announced last week that he will be stepping down, allowing for a third party to take over control of her finances.
In June of this year, Spears spoke at a conservative hearing, making some shocking revelations about her life under conservatorship. She said during her honest and emotional plea: "I truly believe this conservatorship is abusive. I don’t feel like I can live a full life."
No date has yet been set for when Jamie Spears' control over his daughter's assets will be relinquished.
